Launch Complex 39A
Kennedy Space Center

A SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket launched the Hughes Jupiter-3 Echostar XXIV mission to a geosynchronous transfer orbit from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at Kennedy Space Center at 11:04 p.m. on 28 July 2023. Following stage separation, Falcon Heavy’s two side boosters landed on SpaceX’s Landing Zones 1 and 2 (LZ-1 and LZ-2) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Due to the weight of the Jupiter-3 satellite, the center stage was expended to maximize it performance taking the satellite to orbit.

Both of the side boosters on this mission previously supported USSF-44 and USSF-67.

A time exposure shows the launch arcing over Port Canaveral's Exploration Tower and the twin landing burns of the boosters at Landing Zones 1 & 2 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
