Sanderlings probing the wet sand for prey. These energetic birds run back and forth following the water as it constantly moves onto and off the beach.

RIGHT: The Cape Canaveral area provides great opportunities to see pelagic birds like this juvenile Northern Gannett due to the way the land juts out into the Atlantic Ocean.
